The Netherlands Film Festival is about to begin, and once again the post production of this year 's brand new trailer and television commercial was done at AVP. The concept of the film is the contradiction between a chique filmpremiere and a heavy rock concert. Moviestars Frank Lammers, Maryam Hassouni and Monic Hendrickx combined with one hundred extras clad in rock gear form this contradiction.
Director Willem Gerritsen (Comrad) gave his view on the script. The Biggest challenge was the final shot, in which a huge crowd of energetic rockers is jumping in front of a big ass stage. Due to the small number of extras on set, a lot of crowd duplication was neccessary to achieve the goal of a wide shot of a big stage, the scale of which can be compared to Lowlands or Pinkpop. During compositing, a lot of detail was given to the stage to give it this vast feeling . With trussing, lights and big banners in front of the speakerwings, the empty shooting location was transformed into a concert venue. The area where the band normally performs was substituted for a filmscreen, with a title animation projected onto it . Finally, moving lights and smoke effects were added to maintain the continuity with the previous shots in the sequence. As the trailer is being played prior to every movie at the festival, it is finished in full HD as a digital intermediate, graded on Assimilates Scratch system, then printed on 35mm film. The Netherlands Film Festival runs from 24th of september till the 3rd of October and will open with Robert-Jan Westdijk's new feature Het Echte Leven, for which AVP also did the post production.
